Pool Installation in Ohio
Landscape Management Group provides both Biodesign and fiberglass pool installation. We are experts in managing pool installation projects, small and large. Different pool types offer unique advantages depending on your priorities. Biodesign pools excel in customization, blending seamlessly into natural landscapes with organic shapes, beach entries, and integrated features like rock waterfalls. Their low-maintenance surfaces resist algae and require fewer chemicals, and they can remain filled year-round without winterization. On the other hand, fiberglass pools offer a quicker shell installation process with smooth, durable surfaces that are also easy to clean. While they come in pre-molded shapes, fiberglass pools are a solid mid-range option with a faster initial setup and lower upfront costs. Both pool types provide long-term value, offering efficient installation and a more enjoyable, lower-maintenance experience than traditional concrete pools.

*While Vinyl pools offer the lowest entry cost, Fiberglass and BioDesign pools provide the lowest cost of ownership and best long-term value due to superior durability and minimal maintenance.
BioDesign pools combine many of the best qualities of other pool types while minimizing their drawbacks. Low maintenance and chemical usage are standout benefits of BioDesign – there are no liners to replace and the pool’s antimicrobial quartz sand/resin coating with mineral filtration cuts chemical needs significantly (up to 50% less chlorine). This means less frequent cleaning and balancing, similar to fiberglass pools whose smooth gelcoat surface naturally resists algae growth. Both BioDesign and fiberglass offer an exceptionally smooth, comfortable finish – fiberglass gelcoat is non-abrasive, and BioDesign’s hand-finished surface is contoured and smooth, avoiding the roughness of concrete plaster.
In terms of durability, BioDesign and fiberglass are top-tier. Fiberglass shells can last for decades with minimal upkeep, and BioDesign’s structure is engineered to be just as long-lasting – its patented layers (a flexible 300%-elastic waterproof liner and reinforced resin-and-quartz coating) provide mechanical strength about twice that of concrete. Unlike a vinyl liner (which is prone to punctures and needs replacement every 5–9 years), BioDesign’s flexible construction withstands ground movement and harsh weather without cracking. BioDesign and fiberglass pools are also more energy-efficient, using streamlined filtration and insulation to reduce pump run times and heat loss – in fact, Biodesign pools are noted to use less overall energy and water than traditional designs (concrete pools tend to waste more water and energy over time).
Another key advantage is saltwater compatibility. Both fiberglass and BioDesign are well-suited for salt systems – fiberglass’s inert gelcoat and BioDesign’s non-corrosive, antibacterial materials hold up excellently with salt chlorinators. By contrast, salt can be hard on vinyl liners and concrete surfaces (causing faster degradation of liners and plaster).
Finally, design flexibility is where BioDesign truly shines. Like concrete pools, BioDesign pools have unlimited custom shape and size options – they are sculpted on-site to any form, with beach entries, ledges, varied depths and natural rock features per your vision. This far surpasses fiberglass pools (which are limited to pre-molded shapes) and even gives more freedom than vinyl liners (which can be made in custom shapes, though liner construction has some limits). While initial costs for BioDesign are on the higher end (comparable to or above concrete), it provides built-in landscaping and long-term savings on maintenance and repairs. In summary, BioDesign pools and fiberglass pools emerge as the top performers in most categories, with BioDesign offering a unique blend of low-maintenance, eco-friendly performance and limitless design possibilities that can turn a backyard into a natural oasis.
