1. Types of Fencing
What function does your fence need to serve?
The first thing you need to ask when building a fence is what purpose will the fence serve. Are you looking to create a protective barrier for complete privacy for you and your family? Or, are you simply looking to create a beautifully styled fence around an area of your home or backyard? Privacy fencing uses a solid fence typically 6 feet tall. Semi-privacy fencing allows you to block most of the view into your property but still allows sunlight and air flow by spreading out each board.
Pool fencing is designed at a specific height for safety and can come in multiple styles. Picket fences are more traditional with vertical boards nailed to horizontal rails and were designed so that each board can be replaced easily as needed over time. Ranch railing fences have a simplistic look typically with only 2, 3 or 4 rails. Of course, they are most often used on ranches to keep & protect animals but can also be used in other ways for a specific desired look and style.

Vinyl Fencing
Landscape Management Group uses the strongest and most durable vinyl products on the market manufacturing by Weatherables. These heavy duty vinyl fences are made in the USA (Columbus, Ohio) and are 5x stronger than wood using the newest co-extrusion technology. Vinyl fences from Weatherables come with a limited lifetime warranty and are made from 85% recycled material, are BPA free and unlike wood fencing it does not require toxic VOC paints and preservatives to slow the decaying process. Vinyl has a smooth non-porous surface with no sharp edges or splinters. Though the initial cost for vinyl is more expensive than wood, wood fencing will need to be replaced 6 or 7 times in a lifetime, so, in the long run, vinyl fencing is much less expensive.

Aluminum Fencing
Weatherables ornamental aluminum fencing offers the sophistication, beauty and the security that you are looking for from your new aluminum fence. Their aluminum fencing is powder coated with AAMA 2604 coating for a longer lasting finish that resists rust, while also being durable and easy to maintain. Plus, their aluminum fencing utilizes a proprietary hidden fastener system, which means, unlike most aluminum fencing options on the market today which have exposed screws connecting the pickets to the rails, their aluminum fencing has no visible fasteners on either side of the fence panel creating a clean, finished look. All of Weatherables Aluminum fencing are stocked in textured black but additional colors are available by special order.
Wood Fencing
Wood is the least expensive material for fencing but requires the most maintenance. Treated lumber is the least expensive wood option whereas cedar wood fences would be more expensive. Typically wood fences start to need repair or replacement due to cracking or rotting around 15 years. Wood fences can be custom built to your exact specifications and come in all kinds of styles and colors of wood. The most common types of wood fences are privacy fences, picket fences or split rail fences.
3. Fence Options
Fencing for Sloping Properties
If your property slopes or has uneven terrain, you will need to consider 2 options for how to design your fencing. A Stepped Fence is slanted by each panel, whereas a Sloped Fence slants picket by picket. A Sloped Fence is preferred in most cases since the bottom of the fence better aligns with the ground preventing animals from escaping or getting into your property.

Gates for your Fence
It is important to make sure all details of a fence project are considered before doing any work. The style, color and material of your gate is important but also the size. Having a double gate versus a single gate ensures that equipment like lawn mowers or even vehicles can enter your property. You’ll be happy that you are working with LMG, because we know all the right questions to ask to make sure nothing is missed.
